Q & A with Lama Lena ∙ April 11, 2021

by Justin Chökyi Thinley
In this live question and answer period, Lama Lena answers questions about the role of compassion in Dzogchen, how to integrate trekchöd in daily life, how to deal with pain, and more.

“Simply shift your attention to where your thoughts be happening, rather than what you be thinking. You always be thinking. Yes, I’m using that verb tense on purpose. Cause it’s exactly what I mean. You always be thinking in the same place. Your mind. So, all you have to do is notice that you’re thinking. Since you always are, that’s not so hard. And then, unfocus your eyes for a second, which unfocuses your attention, which makes it easier for you to have a quick glance. Not at the thought, but at the ground of mind itself. From which all thoughts arise and into which all thoughts vanish. Do not intentionally glance away from that once you notice it. Don’t intentionally dwell on it once you notice it. Glance. Relax. Glance. Relax”.
