We have an innate sense of being an “I” with a “mind”. This sense is so ingrained that we rarely question it. The Dzogchen view invites us to examine this assumption freshly in each moment. Can we find the “mind itself”, the thinker of thoughts, the feeler of feelings, that which is aware of this moment? Is it in our brain? In our body? Inside or outside?
Drawing our attention to our perceptions of our surroundings, Lama Lena encourages us to examine our cognitions to see the processes at work. Using methods of investigation that are as applicable today as they were 1000 years ago, we can discover for ourselves the true experience of this very moment.
