Free from mental fabrications, it is Mahāmudrā.
Free from extremes, it is the great Madhyamaka.
Containing everything, it is also known as the great completion.
May we gain confidence that, by knowing just this, we realize the meaning of all.
– Karmapa Rangjung Dorje’s Mahāmudrā Aspiration
Dzögchen and Mahāmudrā are some of the most profound teachings on the nature of mind.
As Lama Lena often says, on the path of accumulation, one can reach enlightenment in three eons. On the path of tantra, one can reach enlightenment in one lifetime. On the path of Dzögchen, one can achieve enlightenment in this very moment.
In this series of videos, Lama Lena explores the five paths or “categories” of Buddhahood, from the accumulation of merit through to Atiyoga, and compares the approaches and techniques in Mahāmudra and Dzögchen.
