New Online Practice Groups

by Lama Tasha Star

We’re very happy to announce two new additions to our online offerings:

  • 1000-Armed Chenrezig practice group
  • Silent Dzogchen Trekchö meditation group

Longtime practitioners, teachers, and students of Lama Lena, Jan Owen and Lama Tashi Namgyal will host drop-in sessions via Zoom. See info below to join in!

1000-Armed Chenrezig Practice Group

Jan Owen will be hosting a weekly Chenrezig meditation group every Sunday. Sessions are open to all on a drop-in basis, so you can begin on any Sunday.

From Jan:Please be welcome to sit, practice, question, and explore the Chenrezig visualization practice as taught by Lama Lena. All are welcome for this personal and intimate group.”

To ensure personal attention, each session will be capped at 25 participants. First come, first served!

To Participate: Fill in THIS FORM and we will contact you with zoom details. Practice sessions are offered freely and by the tradition of dana.

  • First Session: Sunday, 27 September 2020, 9am PST / 12pm EST
  • Recurring: Every Sunday @ 9am PST / 12pm EST

If you’re unfamiliar with the practice or would like a refresher, there are some Chenrezig teachings from Lama Lena HERE.

Dzogchen Trekchö Practice Group

Lama Tashi Namgyal will be hosting silent trekchö practice via Zoom for any students of Dzogchen who would like to synchronize their practice through meditating with others. No instruction will be given during the session, so participants are encouraged to participate in a Dzogchen teaching (livestream or in-person) first, either from Lama Lena or another qualified teacher

From Lama Lena: “Live pointing out instructions are not necessary for trying trekchö… but they may be needed for succeeding!”

Most of Lama Lena’s weekly livestreams include introduction to nature of mind and some trekchö practice, so check the calendar HERE for upcoming teachings.

To Participate: email LamaTashiNamgyal@hotmail.com to attend and receive Zoom links. Practice sessions are offered freely and by the tradition of dana.

About Our Practice Hosts:

jan

Jan Owen

Jan has been Lama Lena’s attendant since 2009 when she met Lama Lena and Wangdor Rimpoche during his last tour. She felt an immediate connection with both and knew from the beginning that Lama Lena was her teacher. Having just retired, she volunteered and quickly became an integral member of the team, doing everything from scheduling teachings to driving around the country. Chenrezig being her heart practice, she has been asked by Lama Lena and students to share it – and to our great fortune, she now leads Sunday morning Chenrezig practices, open to everyone!

Lama Tashi Namgyal

Lama Tashi (Sharon Tashi) is leading meditations with Lama Lena’s sangha and was authorized by her to teach in 2010. The late Ven. Namgyal Rinpoche with a universal approach to Dharma is her root teacher and Lama Lena is a heart teacher who delights and terrifies. Eh Ma Ho. How wonderous! Lama Tashi leads ‘Little Sangha’ in beautiful British Columbia, Canada and Sh.e facilitates courses and retreats that bridge secular meditation and ages old wisdom teachings.
